At NCG, we’re proud of the many awards we’ve earned that recognise our focus on quality education, community support, and career-focused training across all our colleges. Each college within NCG also has its own awards that celebrate what makes them unique and highlight the impact they have on students and their communities.
In 2025, we retained a rating of ‘Good’ from Ofsted following a full inspection of NCG colleges. This rating was given for meeting high standards in teaching, student achievement, safety, and overall effectiveness, as well as new areas of focus such as how well we meet local, regional and national skills needs, and how we work in partnership with stakeholders. We have also made significant progress in many areas, most notably our apprenticeships provision.
NCG is member of the Chartered Institution for Further Education signifying that we meet high standards in educational quality, governance, and commitment to skills development. This membership recognises our dedication to delivering top-quality vocational and technical education that meets the needs of both students and employers.
In 2023, NCG was recognised as a Hive Employee Voice Certified organisation, for our ongoing commitment to continually improving colleague experience with factors such as employee experience, wellbeing, engagement and empowerment taken into account.
NCG is part of the Apprenticeships Diversity Champions Network, which is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within apprenticeships in the UK. We work with other members in the network to encourage people from underrepresented groups to participate in apprenticeships.
In 2023, NCG achieved a Silver rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), thanks to the positive impact our employer-led curriculum design has on students. The Silver rating determines that the student experience and student outcomes at NCG are of a ‘very high quality'.
In 2021 NCG was accredited as a Living Wage Employer, which means that everyone working at NCG receives the National Living Wage, significantly higher than the government minimum hourly wage.
