NCG has been shortlisted for the ‘Campaign of the Year’ award at the annual Educate North awards.
The prestigious annual event, which celebrates, recognises and shares best practice and excellence in the education sector in the North, has named the college group’s approach to inclusive student recruitment as a finalist.
"NCG:Transforming Student Recruitment to Open Opportunities for All" campaign is a collective effort from teams across NCG’s colleges to offer more students a pathway to their future career by further education.
The submission recognises the collective effort involved in changes to the student recruitment journey, including marketing, school outreach and admissions. These efforts align with NCG’s mission to ensure access to education through NCG’s colleges, creating more opportunities for prospective students.
Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Communications, Mark Coulthard, said: “I am delighted that NCG has been shortlisted for an Educate North Award. Our submission goes beyond a single campaign—it encompasses every aspect of student recruitment, from the first point of engagement to application management and everything in between
“By embracing a 'One NCG' approach to student recruitment, we have created more opportunities for young people across our colleges to access the transformative power of further education.”
“This recognition is a testament to colleagues across our organisation, particularly our marketing, outreach, and admissions teams, who have embraced change, removed barriers, and aligned their work with our mission.”
Newcastle College has also been shortlisted in three categories:
- Community Engagement Award
- Mental Health and Wellbeing Award
- University/PHD Student Achievement of the Year
The awards ceremony is due to take place in Manchester on Thursday 3 April.
